Raging Bull charges US

VIC 'Raging Bull' Darchinyan is preparing to head to the US for his next major fight against Dimitri Kirilov on August 2.

The fight is a super flyweight world title unification match, as Darchinyan holds the current IBO title and Kirilov the IBF equivalent.

Last week, Darchinyan held his final open training session at his Marrickville gym before heading to the US

"This is the fight that will prove I am the best super flyweight in the world," Darchinyan said in a statement.

"I want to become the undisputed world champion at super flyweight. I want the IBF, IBO, WBC, WBA and WBO world titles around my waist."

The 32-year-old southpaw's last major fight was earlier this year against Z Gorres and had a controversial drawn result.

His professional boxing record is 29 wins, one loss and one draw, and 23 wins by knockout.

He has previously held the IBF and IBO flyweight world titles.

Recently Darchinyan was selected as a character in the new boxing video game Don King Presents Prizefighter, where players can choose him to fight against the likes of boxing greats Joe Louis, Larry Holmes, Archie Moore and Rocky Marciano.

His fight against Kirilov will be screened in Australia on August 3.
